For New York City residents, Nearsay is the best way to stay in front of breaking news, local business offerings and deals, happenings within the arts and entertainment, and just about anything else noteworthy for our city. If you haven't tried it yet, check it out at http://newyork.nearsay.com. It is an amazing resource for residents and businesses alike. Here is a recent article Nearsay provided on Split Rock's work regarding outdoor spaces. http://newyork.nearsay.com/nyc/washington-heights-inwood/real-estate-build-your-dream-patio-spring-split-rock-associates. Split Rock showed its continued support for the New York Landmark Conservancy while attending the 22nd annual Lucy G. Moses Award Dinner. Named in honor of philanthropist Lucy G. Moses, the Awards recognize the property owners, builders, architects, artisans, and designers who renew the beauty and utility of New York City’s incredible architecture. Restoration projects such as Grand Central Station and the Central Park Police Station are great examples of the results this wonderful organization makes possible. Always a fun event, the Lucy Moses Award Dinner brings together some of the most interesting people in our town around a topic so near and dear to our hearts. We were delighted to attend a week long event hosted by the Huntsville Museum of Art in Huntsville Alabama. One of the highlights of the week was attending a talk given by Gloria Vanderbilt discussing the new book authored by Wendy Goodman about Gloria's life, The World of Gloria Vanderbilt. We have had several ocassions to spend time with Gloria and are always amazed to be in the company of someone who epitomizes a chapter right out of American history. So talented at so many things, Gloria in particular is one of our favorite artists and we are so fortunate to own several of her paintings. The Gala event was a beautiful evening directed by our dear friend Christopher Madkour and his amazing team. Additionally, there were the silent and live auctions and the fabulous tour of the surrounding gorgeous antebellum homes. A great time in a great city spent with fabulous people. |
